The Importance Of Bonobos And Well Rounded Animals

Bonobos are smart and well-rounded animals because they are omnivores, however, their diet consists of mostly fruits. During the off seasons of these staple resources, they must rely on fallback food when their preferred foods are unavailable. Extremely social animals, Bonobos search for their food by using a unique form of communication to locate and inform their group members of the food source. A bonobo’s diet is diverse and According to table 3 in The Apes: Challenges for the 21st Century, fruit takes up 55 percent of bonobos diet and 95 percent of their feces volume (Conklin-Brittain 2001, p. 167-174). Fruit is a staple in their diet, however, they also consume high-quality shoots, leaves, mushrooms, seeds, flowers, stems and pith†¦show more content†¦Bonobos use a wide range of communication patterns to help forage for food. In an article titled Preliminary Observation on the Feeding Behavior of Pan Paniscus, researchers studied the feeding behavior of Bonobos over a seven-month period. The researchers reported that when a small group (2-4 Bonobos) located a tree bearing ripe fruit, they would signal by vocalizing to the rest of the group (Badrian, 1981, p. 173-181). Bonobos use five distinct calls when searching for food and a combination of these calls to describe the food quality of the source that they have located (Clay, 2011). When a preferred food is found, peeps and barks are given to the others compared to yelps and grunts that are given to lesser preferred foods. When Bonobos have acquired their food, they are social in their food sharing patterns. A study done by Vicky M. Oeize and her team showed that hunting and meat sharing had more social than nutritional benefits (Oeize, 2008). In another study done that looked at the specifics of how they share their food, the results showed that it is voluntary (Hare, 2010). The experiment was conducted in three adjacent rooms, with the food being in the center room. One Bonobo was placed in the center room and rather than consuming all the food alone, eighty percent of the subjects opened one of the adjacent doors to share with a recipient, even if it meant the recipient would eat all the food. Questions: Explain, with the use of demand and supply diagrams, the effect of the following events on the market for solar panels: a. The price of solar panels has fallen to below the market equilibrium price. b. The price of electricity for an average household has increased by 50 percent. c. New technology has increased the productivity of solar panel producers. Answers: (a). As the price of solar panels fall below the market equilibrium price it results into a situation of excess demand and shortage of supply. The situation of excess demand arises because as price falls below the equilibrium price the overall demand for the solar panels increases with supply reaching at a lower level Q1 at the ongoing price. Now there are too many consumers trying to buy too few goods, hence in such a situation sellers respond by increasing prices of solar panels without losing onto their sales such that the demand for the solar panels fall and quantity supplied rises and the market again moves towards the equilibrium. As we see in Fig 1(a), when price fall below the equilibrium point, from P0 to P1, higher number of solar panels are demanded at the price P1 at QD with the supply decreasing at the ongoing price reaching QS, which is a situation of excess demand. As sellers raise prices of solar panels, the demand for solar panels falling and the market again moving towards to initial equilibrium point E0. Fig (a) (b). With increase in price of elasticity by 50% the solar panels demand increases because solar panel is a substitute for electricity. Hence, there occurs a shift in the demand curve of solar panels upward, which increases the price of solar panels. Hence in Fig 1(b) we see the demand increase is shown by a shift in the demand curve from D0 to D1 which leads to a rise in price from P0 to P1. The new equilibrium point is achieved at E1 which is at a higher output and higher price. Fig (b) (c). As new technology increases the productivity of solar panel producers they start producing more of solar panel goods which increases the supply of solar panels in the market. The increase in productivity of the producers shifts the supply curve of the solar panels rightward, increasing supply of solar panels at the given price levels. Hence with the shift in supply curve the price of solar panels decreases. Thus in Fig 1(c) we see the supply curve shifts from S0 to S1, price of the solar panels fall from P0 to P1, and the new market equilibrium point is achieved at E1. Hail to the King by Avenged Sevenfold free essay sample

After a three-year hiatus, Avenged Sevenfold is back with their long-awaited album â€Å"Hail to the King.† Rather than trying to reinvent the wheel, the group decided to strip things down and go for a simpler approach, a major risk in the music industry. However, their efforts were not in vain, as â€Å"Hail to the King† may just be Avenged Sevenfold’s best album to date. Diehard fans won’t be disappointed, because while the band has gone for a simpler, harder rock feel, every element of their style has been maintained. The album kicks off with â€Å"Shepherd of Fire,† featuring a slow, almost orchestral opening, followed by the classic Sevenfold style fans have come to love. From there, things only get hotter with the title track, â€Å"Hail to the King.† â€Å"Doing Time,† â€Å"This Means War,† and â€Å"Requiem† follow, each presenting a variety of riffs, rhythms, and guitar solos sure to induce instant head-banging. We will write a custom essay sample on Hail to the King by Avenged Sevenfold or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page After this, the album arrives at â€Å"Crimson Day,† a softer, more emotional piece. This stands out – the lyrics are beautiful and the overall feel is somber and almost sweet. Then the album spirals back to classic Sevenfold with â€Å"Heretic,† â€Å"Coming Home,† and â€Å"Planets.† As with the first four songs, each is varied yet maintains Avenged Sevenfold’s style. At the last spot on the album, but far from the least, we have â€Å"Acid Rain.† This track will turn the heads of most listeners. Instead of embracing a hard-rock vibe, â€Å"Acid Rain† is a slow, piano-based song. While it’s not the style Sevenfold fans have come to know and love, it’s beautiful and more than worth spamming the replay button for. â€Å"Hail to the King† had monumental standards to live up to, especially after the long wait. However, it far exceeds all expectations from the moment you hit the play button. Every track is a new piece of amazing music, from the heavy-riff-based â€Å"This Means War† to the melodic and orchestral â€Å"Requiem† and the gorgeous â€Å"Acid Rain.† Avenged Sevenfold has created another musical masterpiece; â€Å"Hail to the King† deserves every bit of praise it receives. I strongly recommend it to any Sevenfold fan, or rock fan in general, as the variety will appeal to all kinds of audiences. This is an absolute must-have.
